Man Group’s global sales professionals seek to address the needs of institutional investors, private clients and their investment consultants in their local markets.
The departments vast network encompasses direct relationships as well as a financial intermediaries and joint venture distribution partners around the world.
The team is headquartered in London with on the ground presence globally including the US, Switzerland, Hong Kong SAR, China, Japan and Australia.
Communications & Marketing
The Communications & Marketing department’s primary objective is to inform external and internal audiences about Man Group. This consists of media relations, brand and content marketing (including client materials), brand management, digital content and advertising. The department is also responsible for effective internal communication to employees globally, helping to keep everyone connected to the firm and to each other.
The Investor Relations department is the interface between the company and the financial community. The department provides transparent, comprehensive and up-to-date information on developments at the firm to shareholders and financial analysts.
Product Structuring & Finance
Product Structuring and Financing (PSF) is made up of a number of units:
Prime Brokerage for AHL
The PSF team is responsible for the structuring and maintenance of all client facing products and structured products (including presentations and proposals), ensuring they are delivered in a timely and efficient manner. The team is also involved in enhancing existing products and in the material product change process.
Through the nature of its work PSF liaises with all areas of the business including Sales, Operations, Marketing and Legal & Compliance. The unit is multi-disciplinary in nature and is made up of a range of professionals such as accountants, finance professionals and lawyers.
Legal & Compliance
The Legal and Compliance function at Man Group is made up of legal practitioners, compliance specialists and company secretarial professionals. The team is committed to enabling Man Group to serve its clients effectively, in a legal and compliant way.
The firm operates a global legal framework which underpins all aspects of our business and is resourced by experienced legal teams. These personnel are located across all our key jurisdictions which helps them understand the context and impact of varying requirements.
The broader team covers a wide array of work from traditional corporate legal and compliance roles to activities including M&A, corporate finance and capital markets, product development and financing, relationship management with prime brokers and other counterparties, distribution of products globally, business development and structuring, and planning around regulatory developments.
Man Group’s corporate entities are regulated in a number of jurisdictions worldwide, putting the firm at the forefront of global regulatory developments. The team enables the firm to operate effectively cross-border and cross-discipline to efficiently deliver solutions to our clients.
Man Group’s comprehensive risk management framework forms an essential part of the business model and enables the firm to protect the interests of both fund investors and Man Group shareholders.
The Risk team is responsible for ensuring the Group understands and manages its risk profile:
The corporate risk team uses various quantitative and qualitative techniques to provide independent assessments of business, investment, credit, liquidity, market and operational risks
The fund risk teams monitor, measure, set limits and oversee the investment risk profile of the Group's fund range
Risk is embedded into the Group’s key decision-making processes, and allows for ongoing independent review and challenge in a dynamic business environment
Risk plays a key role in organising and operating the Group’s governance process across a range of committees and meetings
Risk manages the Internal Capital Adequacy Assessment Process (ICAAP)
Product & Client Operations
Product & Client Operations (PCO) provides client service and middle and back office support to Man Group and its investment managers.
The PCO unit is responsible for the operational aspects of our business and provides client reporting to our fund investors.
The Technology Group (TG) is central to Man Group’s business. The team’s global scale enables it to make major, long-term investments in technology. The department’s close relationship with the business ensures that the firm’s technology investments are targeted to deliver maximum value to the business and for our clients.
Business applications - New application development and enhancement of existing business systems is undertaken by the relevant, co-located team.
Infrastructure - TG Infrastructure maintains the Production IT Systems and ensures availability for staff across the world, ranging from desktop devices to the firm’s two Global Data Centres, as well as voice and data networks which link all offices together.
Finance models, analyses and reports financial information: to the business and Group Board (to aid better decision making); to the Company’s equity and debt holders (to meet their requirements for investing in the Company); and to regulators (to fully comply with regulatory rules and requirements).
Group Tax is responsible for the payment and reporting of all taxes incurred by the Group globally, with the aim of minimising the total cost for the Group whilst complying with all laws.
Treasury is responsible for ensuring that the Group has the right amount of funds, in the right currency, in the right place, at the right time, at an acceptable cost and level of risk. In practice, this means that Treasury is responsible for putting in place an efficient capital and funding structure and managing the Group’s cash and financial risks. Treasury is also responsible for managing relationships with banks and credit rating agencies.
Commercial Management is responsible for managing the relationships with the Group’s suppliers, which involves contract and fee negotiation, inventory management, and paying suppliers on time.
The Facilities department provides a range of essential services that align to and support Man Group’s businesses, activities and culture. The department’s mission is to provide safe, quality environments in which the business can thrive and do so in an efficient, sustainable and cost effective way.
Functions include landlord services; management of the Group’s properties in the UK including management of planned and responsive maintenance; statutory compliance and support for properties globally; real estate and all lease related works; project management; space management; meeting room management; health and safety; helpdesk services; security; cleaning; recycling and waste management; reception and switchboard; global travel management; catering, tea point services and hospitality services; and post and print services.
The Human Resources (HR) department is responsible for the attraction, selection, development and reward of Man Group’s employees, whilst overseeing the leadership and culture of the overall business.
Their remit includes managing employee relations, recruitment, training, talent management, succession planning, global mobility, reward and organisational development. These activities are supported by controls and policies, which together with HR systems that automate workflows, monitor compliance and provide detailed management and headcount information.

Established in 1989 and acquired by Man Group in 2014, Man Numeric is a Boston-based, quantitative equity manager invested in almost every equity market in the world through long only and long-short strategies.
Man Numeric’s offering consists of four main categories of equity strategies across long only and alternatives: global & international, domestic large cap, domestic small cap and alternatives (predominantly invested in multi-strategy and market neutral strategies).
Man Numeric’s 66 investment professionals* manage assets for institutional clients globally, including corporate and public pension plans, foundations, endowments, and sovereign funds.

Man FRM’s 37 research and investment professionals* are based in London, New York, Tokyo, Guernsey and Pfäffikon.
Man GPM, launched by Man Group in 2017, aims to offer clients truly differentiated return streams through private market real and corporate assets such as real estate and private credit.
