Matt Goldklang

Matt Goldklang is Head of RI Research at Man Group, where he leads research on climate science, sustainability and financial markets.

Matt joined Man Numeric in 2021 as the firm's first climate scientist. Prior to Man Numeric, he worked in climate risk analytics at Rhodium Group, where he developed first-of-their-kind physical risk models for real assets and equity markets.

Matt received a bachelor's degree in Geology and Geophysics and a certificate in Energy Studies from Yale University. He later received a master's degree in Climate Change from the University of Copenhagen, where his work focused on climate change impacts and machine learning. He is currently pursuing a DPhil at the University of Oxford, researching the intersection of climate extremes and market outcomes, and serves as an affiliate lecturer at Columbia University.
