Michael O’Connell

Michael (‘Mike’) O’Connell is a Portfolio Manager at Man GLG.

Prior to joining Man GLG in 2022, he spent more than five years at Paloma Partners co-managing a number of relative value and arbitrage strategies across credit and equity markets. Before that, Mike spent 14 years at Pine River Capital Management where he started trading European convertible bonds in 2003, and ultimately oversaw distressed, relative value and arbitrage strategies in US credit. He has also worked on Morgan Stanley’s convertible bond and CDS desks in London. Mike began his career as an Offshore Field Engineer for Schlumberger.

Mike holds an MBA from Columbia University, a BS in Engineering from Columbia University and a BA in Physics from the State University of New York.
