Sof Yiannakas joins Man GLG as Portfolio Manager

Man GLG, the discretionary investment engine of Man Group, today announces the appointment of Sof Yiannakas as Portfolio Manager in the firm’s equity team, where he will head up a new European opportunities strategy.

Sof brings a wealth of experience to the role, having joined from alternative investment firm EOF Partners which he founded in 2019. Before founding EOF Partners, Sof invested in European equities for the family office of George Soros and Davidson Kempner Partners. He started his career at Deutsche Bank and holds a BSc in Accounting and Finance from the London School of Economics and Political Science.

Sof will be responsible for managing an equity long-short strategy that will target European companies poised to generate long term value growth for investors, with a focus on sustainability. The short side of the portfolio will identify stocks where the investment team believe the economic reality differs from the accounting representation and market perception.

Sof will be supported by two equity analysts, Andreas Christoforou and Giorgi Tevzadze, who also join Man GLG from EOF Partners. The team will have access to Man Group’s deep quantitative expertise to enhance their portfolio construction and investment process.
