External Alpha Operational Risk Analyst, Solutions, Man Group
Greg Bird is an Operational Risk Analyst at Solutions and is based in New York. As a member of the Operational Risk team, he is responsible for assessing and monitoring the business, legal, financial and operational risks of investments in alternatives.
Prior to joining Man FRM in 2014, Greg worked at Barclays Capital on the Credit Risk team for over six years. From 2008 to October 2013, he worked on the Hedge Fund Credit Risk team in London, responsible for managing the credit risk profile for a portfolio of hedge fund clients. This included analysing and reviewing hedge fund clients and client transactions focusing on the key investment strategy, operational, and franchise risks covering a variety of trading strategies – including Fixed Income RV, Equity Statistical Arbitrage, Credit Arbitrage, and Emerging Markets. From November 2013 to June 2014 Greg worked in Barclays Capital’s New York office where he managed the contingent credit risk for a portfolio of US Central Clearing Counterparties. Before joining Barclays Capital, Greg held roles as a Portfolio Analyst at Dividend Asset Capital and as a Financial Advisor at UBS.
Greg holds a BA in English Literature from Bowdoin College. He is a CFA charterholder.
