Andrew Bishop

Global Head of Policy Research, Signum Global Advisors

Andrew is an established geopolitical analyst with a twelve-year track record advising investors, companies, and governments on political risks in developed, emerging, and frontier markets. As Senior Partner and Global Head of Policy Research at Signum Global Advisors, Andrew directs and oversees the quality of the firm’s analytical product and leads its emerging market and geopolitical coverage. Andrew joined Signum from Eurasia Group where he served as Deputy Head of Research and was a Director in the firm’s Global Macro practice. Prior to that, Andrew was a senior manager with the World Economic Forum’s strategic foresight and risk analysis unit for six years, during which he regularly participated in the organization’s annual meeting in Davos. Andrew is a masters’ graduate of the London School of Economics and ‘SciencesPo. Paris’ and was a fellow at the Johns Hopkins University in Washington, D.C. He is Term Member of the Council on Foreign Relations, a Munich Security Conference Young Leader, and an alumnus of the Atlantik-Bruecke.

Gregory Bond

President and Chief Executive Officer, Man Numeric

Gregory (‘Greg’) Bond is the President and CEO of Man Numeric and a special advisor to Man Group’s multi-strategy funds. He also serves on the Man Group Executive Committee and the Man Numeric Investment Committee. Previously, Greg was director of research at Man Numeric, responsible for research initiatives, including the day-to-day management of Man Numeric’s strategic alpha research team. Prior to joining Man Numeric in 2003, Greg worked as a research associate for Professor Michael E. Porter at Harvard Business School. Greg holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in economics and in biology, magna cum laude, from Yale University and a Master of Business Administration degree from Harvard Business School with distinction. He is a CFA charterholder.

Rob Catterall

Head of EMEA Trading and Co-Head of Global FICC Trading, Man Group

Rob is Head of EMEA Trading and Co-Head of Global FICC Trading at Man Group based in London. Rob was formerly Co-Head of Trading at Man AHL having been appointed in 2014, and having joined Man AHL in 2006. His responsibility now extends across all EMEA and FICC trading for Man Group ensuring the firm has the execution and clearing access to markets for its investment managers. Prior to joining Man AHL Rob worked for Westpac Banking Corporation in London and Sydney for over 15 years. During his time at Westpac he traded a number of asset classes and was responsible for managing global interest rate swaps and swaption portfolios.

Jonathan Daffron

Deputy Head of Investment Risk, Man FRM

Jonathan Daffron is Deputy Head of Investment Risk at Man FRM. He is responsible for monitoring market risk at the manager and portfolio levels for investments in hedge fund managers and investment risk due diligence for new managers. Jonathan is also a member of Man FRM’s Risk Committee. Prior to joining Man FRM in 2020, Jonathan was a risk manager at Goldman Sachs for 17 years, where he was most recently the Global Head of Market Risk for the Investment Management Division. Jonathan holds a Bachelor’s degree from Johns Hopkins University, where he majored in International Studies and German.

Peter van Dooijeweert

Head of Multi-Asset Solutions, Man Solutions

Peter van Dooijeweert is Head of Multi-Asset Solutions at Man Solutions. Peter is responsible for assisting clients develop bespoke, actively managed investment programmes and also manages Man Group’s institutional hedging platform. Peter specialises in designing risk mitigating portfolios through the use of futures and options overlays, combined with diversifying Man Group discretionary and systematic strategies. Prior to joining Man Group in June 2018, Peter was a portfolio manager at Paloma Partners between 2013 and 2017, where he was responsible for managing a global volatility portfolio and a multi-asset tail hedge protection plan. He started his career with Goldman Sachs in Tokyo in 1995 before moving on to Soros as a volatility portfolio manager. Subsequently, he launched and managed a volatility hedge fund seeded by Tudor Investment. Peter holds a degree in accountancy from Wake Forest University and also studied at Tokai University in Japan.

Steven Desmyter

Global Head of Sales & Marketing, Man Group

Steven Desmyter is Global Head of Sales & Marketing at Man Group, a member of the Man Group Senior Executive Committee, and Chair of the Man Group Charitable Trust. Steven is responsible for building and developing Man Group's overall business strategy, marketing activities and client servicing globally. Steven was previously Head of Sales EMEA at Man Group and prior to this, responsible for Man Group’s institutional and retail client relationships for the Nordic and Benelux regions. Before joining Man Group in 2002, Steven was at Goldman Sachs, covering institutional clients in the European Equities Division. Steven is also key to Man Group’s sustainability and responsible investing efforts. He is a member of the Man Group ESG Leadership team, previously the Co-Head of Responsible Investments and Chair of the RI Committee, and serves on the United Nations-supported Principles for Responsible Investment Hedge Fund Advisory Committee, SASB (Sustainable Accounting Standards Board) Investor Advisory Group and the SBAI (Standards Board for Alternative Investments) Investor Advisory Group. Steven is a Contributor to Forbes Magazine and writes regularly for a number of leading global publications. His articles and comments on sustainable investing have been quoted in a number of publications, including AIMA, the Financial Times, Fundfire, and Nordsip. Steven holds Master’s Degrees in Economics and Finance from the University of Ghent and the University of Kiel. He also holds an MBA from SDA Bocconi.

 

Luke Ellis

CEO, Man Group

Luke Ellis is Chief Executive Officer of Man Group, a global active investment firm. Man Group has six investment engines (Man AHL, Man Numeric, Man GLG, Man FRM and Man GPM), which manage USD 143.3 billion (as at 31 December 2022) in a range of liquid and private markets. With a central objective to deliver alpha for clients through time, Man Group provides a wide range of alternative and long-only portfolio solutions for its client base. As CEO, Luke leads the firm’s Executive Committee, working with teams across investment, distribution, technology and infrastructure, while seeking to deliver the right outcomes for clients and positioning Man Group to adapt to opportunities as markets evolve. He is also the Deputy Chairman of the Standards Board for Alternative Investments (SBAI), and Chair of the Board of Trustees for Greenhouse Sports. Luke joined Man Group in 2010 and was previously President of the firm, responsible for management across investment engines. Prior to this, he was Chairman of Man GLG’s Multi-Manager activities and was Managing Director of Man FRM from 1998 to 2008. Luke was previously a Managing Director at JPMorgan in London and Global Head of the firm’s Equity Derivatives and Equity Proprietary Trading businesses. He holds a BSc (Hons) in Mathematics and Economics from Bristol University.

Robert E. Furdak

Chief Investment Officer for Responsible Investment, Man Group

Robert (‘Rob’) Furdak is Chief Investment Officer for Responsible Investment at Man Group. He is responsible for overseeing all aspects of responsible investing across Man Group’s five investment engines. Rob chairs the Man Group Responsible Investment Committee and is a member of Man Group’s Stewardship Committee and its Executive Committee. He also serves on the United Nations-supported Principles for Responsible Investment Macroeconomic Risk Advisory Committee, the CFA Institute’s Global Industry Standards Steering Committee and is on the Advisory Board of the Journal of Impact and ESG Investing. Rob was previously the Co-Chief Investment Officer at Man Numeric and Chairman of Man Numeric’s Investment Committee. In that position, Rob led the ESG initiatives and oversaw all aspects of the investment process. Rob joined Man Numeric in 1997 as Director of International Strategies and designed and launched Man Numeric’s first non-US strategies. Before joining Man Numeric, Rob was a Principal in the Active International Group at State Street Global Advisors. During his eight years there, Rob performed global quantitative research and was the principal architect of State Street’s active emerging markets investment process. Previously, Rob worked at Harvard Management Company. Rob holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Finance from the University of Michigan and an MBA in Finance from the University of Chicago. He is also a CFA charterholder.

Robyn Grew

President, Man Group

Robyn Grew is President at Man Group, which includes responsibility globally for Corporate Sustainability and Responsible Investing; Man Solutions and Man FRM; Central Trading, Funds Treasury and Bank Relationships; Operations; Financial Crime; Corporate Real Estate; and Communications. Based in New York, Robyn is also a member of Man Group’s Senior Executive Governance Committee. Robyn was previously Group COO, General Counsel, Chief Administrative Officer and Global Head of Legal and Compliance. Before joining the firm in 2010 as Chief Compliance Officer for Man GLG, Robyn held senior positions at Barclays Capital and prior to that at Lehman Brothers and LIFFE. Robyn is a qualified barrister and has worked in the investment industry since 1994.

Russell Korgaonkar

CIO, Man AHL

Russell Korgaonkar is Chief Investment Officer of Man AHL, with overall responsibility for investment and research. He is also a member of Man AHL’s management and investment committees, and a member of the Man Group executive committee. He was previously Director of Investment Strategies of Man AHL, responsible for Man AHL’s Liquid Strategies unit, which creates and runs scalable systematic strategies, as well as the Institutional Solutions business. Russell joined the firm in 2001 as a researcher and later portfolio manager focused on systematic cash equity strategies, before becoming Head of Portfolio Management in 2011. Russell holds a BA/MA (First Class) in Physics from the University of Oxford.

Brandon Gill New

Managing Director and Head of Multi-Strategy Investments and Digital Assets, Capital Markets Group

Brandon Gill New is a Director in the Capital Markets Group at OPTrust, one of Canada’s largest defined benefit pension plans. In her role, Brandon provides strategic direction and oversight of the Plan’s portfolio of externally managed public-market investments, representing roughly 20% of total assets under management. Prior to joining OPTrust in early 2018, Brandon was a Director at BMO Capital Partners, a proprietary private debt and equity fund at Bank of Montreal. She also spent a decade at Ontario Teachers’ Pension Plan. There, she served as a Portfolio Manager in the Alternative Investments Division managing a portfolio of global hedge funds and esoteric investment funds, and as an Assistant Portfolio Manager in the Public Equities Division covering direct Emerging Markets equities. Brandon holds an MBA from London Business School and a B.A. in International Economics from Middlebury College in Vermont. She is also a CFA Charterholder.

Sriram Reddy

Managing Director – Credit, Man GLG

Sriram Reddy is a Managing Director for credit at Man GLG. He is responsible for coordinating business development, product development, marketing and client service efforts across both long only and alternative credit strategies. Sriram joined Man Group in 2022. He was previously a Credit Investment Director at Schroders. Prior to that, Sriram worked at BlackRock for more than 12 years in multiple roles, most recently as an Investment Strategist within the BlackRock Investment Institute. Sriram holds a BA in Economics from Johns Hopkins University.

 

David Stewart, CFA

Head of US Sales, Man Group

Dave Stewart is Head of US Sales at Man Group, overseeing aspects of the company’s business development efforts. Prior to this, Dave led Man Group’s global consultant relations team. He joined Man Numeric in 2007. During his tenure with Man Numeric, he led the consultant relations, business development and relationship management efforts. Prior to joining Man Numeric, Dave was the Director of Consultant Relations for Putnam Investments’ Institutional Business in North America, where he had been a team member since 2002. Previously, he worked at T. Rowe Price Retirement Plan Services, where he started their Consultant Relations effort in 2000. Dave graduated from the University of New Hampshire with a B.S. in Business Administration and Economics. He is also a CFA charterholder.

Gil Song

Portfolio Manager, Man GLG

Gil Song is a portfolio manager at Man GLG, responsible for convertible bond arbitrage. Gil joined Man GLG in 2017 from Paloma Partners, where he was a convertible bond portfolio manager since 2006. Prior to Paloma Partners, Gil was a trader at Severn River Capital and a senior M&A and Restructuring analyst at Jefferies – Broadview Technology Group. Gil graduated with a BA in History from Yale University in 2000.

Mike Scott, CFA

Head of Global High Yield & Credit Opportunities, Man GLG

Mike Scott is Head of Global High Yield & Credit Opportunities at Man GLG. He began his career at Cazenove Capital Management in 2005 before moving to Schroders in 2006. Mike initially spent four years as a European industrials credit analyst covering investment grade and high yield and went on to become the lead high yield portfolio manager. Mike graduated from Oxford University and is a CFA Charterholder.

Tom Taylor

Head of Alpha Technology, Man Numeric

Tom Taylor is Head of Alpha Technology at Man Numeric, where he holds responsibility for all alpha generating technology delivered for portfolio managers. He also serves on Man Numeric’s Management Committee. Tom joined Man Group from Morgan Stanley, in 2010. He seconded as Technology Manager to Man Numeric in 2015 for 11 months, following which he assumed the role of Equities Technology Manager & Partner at Man AHL. In January 2018, Tom was appointed Head of Alpha Technology at Man Numeric. He holds an Bachelors in Computer Science from the University of Warwick.

Chao Xia, PhD, CFA

Senior Quantitative Researcher, Man Numeric

Chao Xia is a senior quantitative researcher at Man Numeric. Her research efforts focus on machine learning, factor combination, event strategies, alternative data and macro timing. Chao is also a co-portfolio manager and manages a team of researchers. Prior to joining Man Numeric in 2017, Chao interned at JP Morgan as a research associate. Chao received a bachelor’s degree in statistics from University of Science and Technology of China and a doctorate degree in applied mathematics from Brown University. Her thesis focused on applying Kaman Filters in traffic flow forecasts. Chao is a CFA and FRM charterholder.
