The Man Group Sales programme is possibly one of the few of its kind offering an introduction to Sales so early into the start of a career. This really appealed to me and prompted me to apply.
So far, I have completed rotations in the UK Institutional, Nordics and Benelux and Middle East teams and will be joining the Italian Sales team next. The exposure to a variety of different Sales teams / regions has given me the opportunity to see how different people work and add value – you get to know the firm’s client base and appetite for different products across geographies. This gives you a long-term perspective in terms of the direction you want to take your career and the best practice learning you can apply to your own working style.
Early into my time on the programme, I built a mentoring relationship with a senior colleague in Sales. This was very helpful in getting guidance on the day-to-day job, but also on career progression and how to make the most of my time. It’s essential to find someone you get along with and respect, and through the mentorship it was easy to see that when the firm brings you in, they really care about you. The people at Man Group are good to you and if they see you have a good attitude, they will support you in your career.
