More than half the world’s population lives in cities. Cities also represent 78% of global energy consumption and more than 60% of global emissions, which means they are vital for climate action. Lolita Jackson, Special Advisor on Climate Policy and Programs to the NYC Mayor’s Office, talks about how New York City is addressing climate change within its quadrennial plan OneNYC as well as its international climate diplomacy efforts with other cities.

Lolita Jackson is the Special Advisor to the Senior Director of Climate Policy and Programs for New York City. She’s responsible for international diplomacy around climate for the NYC Mayor's Office. Before that, she was Chief of Staff to the NYC Senior Advisor to the Mayor for Recovery, Resiliency & Infrastructure. She was also Director of External Affairs for the NYC Mayor's Office of Housing Recovery Operations where she was part of the leadership team that addressed resiliency following Hurricane Sandy.
